Just a Little Update...

Our girls are doing well. Still in the hospital which is a bummer but getting really great care from the nurses and doctors there. We are basically just making sure that they can eat and gain weight...which they are doing...slowly. It gets harder and harder to leave them behind but we have high hopes that they will be home soon.

We have already seen a little bit of their personalities. Laurel has been so funny. She doesn't like her feeding tube very much and pulls it out regularly. The nurses put little socks on her hands to keep her away from it but she found a way to get those off as well. She also can turn her little body on the side and scoots right to the edge of the isolette like she really wants out! Maisy is our little pooper. The nurses have reported many times that as soon as they open her diaper to change her she starts pooping! She seems really easy going though and has improved so much in the past few days. She was on the c-pap machine for a while in the beginning and almost had to be transferred to another hospital that could give her more specialized care but thankfully her breathing stabilized and she hasn't had to leave her sister. They are very aware of each other. When one is out of the isolette the other reaches for her sister and usually starts crying.

I can't express to you the love we feel for these girls. It is so life changing and so amazing. They are the greatest miracles of our lives. More than words could ever express.

Here are some new pictures...enjoy:

Just hanging out together before they had to move to the isolette.

Two cool chicks with their biliruben (sp?) sunglasses...they only had to be under the light for a few days.
The girls new home...they put them in here to cut down on the noise so that they aren't over stimulated and can just focus on eating and growing.

Happy Mama holding little Laurel

Laurel with her hands covered to keep her away from her feeding tube (can you blame her for wanting to take that thing out?!)

Sweet little Maisy

They are SO DANG CUTE!!! It is so much fun to see their personalities come through, huh? It sounds like they are thriving and doing well. I'm sure you will have them home in no time.

Matthew & Kirsten remember Laurel & Maisy in every one of their prayers. Matthew forgets their names half the time, but happily "Hannah's babies" works well for him.

We are all anxious for them to be home with you soon.

Thank you for the updates!

They've changed already since the day they were born. It's amazing! They are so cute! I'm so jealous of all you "Utah people" who can see those cute little girls. When you guys visit them, tell them their Aunt Britta loves them.;)

They are so precious! Those look like nice eye guards for the bililights... McKay had to be under the lights for a few days at home and he HATED those eye covers! That is so fun you are getting to know their personalities. Probably more fun than you could ever have imagined.

What beautiful little girls! It's nice that they favor the Anderson side. Better luck next time, Jeff, but there are more where they came from;-). Can't wait to see and hold them. Love to all,
Dad
