A Sad, Sad Day

"To live in the hearts of those you
leave behind is never to die"
- Robert Orr -

Erika Solaegui Hicks died early Friday morning after a long fight with lymphoma cancer. Erika is done with her painful battle. Now comes the battle for those she has left behind. She was a devoted friend, daughter, sister, wife and most recently mother.

Erika gave birth to her first little baby girl the same day Laurel and Maisy were born. Her daughter Addie was born early due to the complications associated with Erika's treatments. When Addie was born she weighed around 3 lbs. and required special NICU care. She is now 7 lbs. and continues to grow well.

We were all fasting and praying that Erika would be able to recover and care for little Addie. This didn't happen. Someday we will understand why...right now we just feel sadness and pain....but faith that Heavenly Father knows all things and that it will be okay.

We love you Erika and will miss your beautiful, kind ways...if we could be as ready to meet our Maker as you were, we will have had a successful life.

To the Solaegui and Hicks families, you are in our most sincere thoughts and prayers. We love you and pray that you will feel the peace of the spirit and hope in the promises of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

With Love and Deepest Sympathy,
Jeff and Hannah
