Turkey Day and the Explosion

We had such a great Thanksgiving this year.  We headed to Reno and chilled with my parents, Micah, Camille and Nigel and the missionaries who are living with my parents.  Good times.

Dinner was a bit late due to the explosion.  Micah wanted to do another deep fried turkey this year but it wasn't to be...the grease temperature was a little too hot (well a lot too hot) and it basically exploded.  No one was hurt and the turkey hadn't been submerged yet so it was safe as well (the really cool ladder my parent's just bought last year wasn't so lucky...it literally melted).  We put the turkey in the oven right away and it turned out to be delectable about four hours later.

Thank goodness for desert landscapes, quick thinking people and good ovens!
