December 2006 and January 2007

Okay, here's a little taste of Christmas...Figgy with his Christmas Bell (above) and below our FAKE (that's right, FAKE) Christmas tree. We bought it at DI ...we didn't go and chop one and refused to pay $80 for a real one at a lot and $100 for a new FAKE one so we paid $10 for this one and I bought two pine smelling candles to trick myself into believing that we really did have a pine tree in our home at Christmas time. It actually worked and we really enjoyed the tree and the whole season! Look at that beautiful snow...

January means celebrating the Scottish Poet Robert Burn's birthday...this is an Anderson family tradition. We all dress in something plaid and make amazingly delicious food and have a great time! This year it was at our house and Micah was in charge of reciting the "Ode to a Haggis" and cutting our "Haggis" open ( our Haggis consists of ground lamb with spices and oatmeal in an oven bag).It was so fun to have Beth, Shae and Aiden join us. We celebrated in AZ in 2004 before we were all married so it was fun to reminisce...especially about the fire (long story). Here's a shot of everyone:Aiden's first taste of Haggis...he wasn't a fan.
